Why am I made fun of for liking The Smiths?

Im 13, and all of my friends make fun of me for liking the smiths. To me, it is amazing. It just makes me feel so good. I don't know. People always say "I love this song", but for me, I can really hear the emotion and it makes such an impression. Its indescribable... I also listen to Radiohead, the National, Arcade Fire, Nirvana...
