I need help with a shark egg problem?

i have a shark egg and ive had it for about a month a bit longer its recently released sme white stuff from the egg and it made my water murky and made everything high and it smelt lol. i rubbed my fingers on the egg but it didnt smell and now the water has cleared up. i have been putting the egg towards the light to see if its still there and today i tried it and couldnt see anythin because the algae has strted to cover it i rubbed it gentley and noticed one of the sides is soft any suggetions because i dont want to get rid off it if its still gna b ok plus ive bought another tank to house it in lol
