Is it right to spank your misbehaving kid?

This country is turning into a nation of whining sissies. We might as well be France! There is no reason for that woman to be charged with a felony for spanking her own child for misbehaving. When I was young and I blatantly did something wrong- I was spanked and guess what, I didn't misbehave again. I also turned out perfectly fine. A simple spank is not child abuse, it's teaching a lesson and not letting spoiled, ill-behaved, tyrannical kids run around without any consequences for their actions.
