Is it okay for a guy to cry?

I was raised by parents who said that the man should be the leader in a household and the woman should be submissive, but the man should never cry unless a very tragic death occurs. Basically, the man should be strong and a leader and the woman can show more emotion but should be submissive. Personally, I don't agree with all of this, but that's a different story. Anyway, sometimes I just do feel like crying if something bad happens. Do you think it's okay for a guy to cry other than a very tragic death?
